East Hickman Baptist Church is a loving place to worship, study God's Word, and find fellowship for life's ups and downs. We truly are a family in the best sense of that word, and would love to have anyone in need of a church home to come and be a part of us.
East Hickman began as Marble Creek Church in what is now Jessamine County in June, 1787--before Kentucky had even been admitted to the union. (The original meeting place, Marble Creek School House, was approximately 1/4 mile from the current Marble Creek Baptist Church.) A log structure was erected in 1788, and Elder John Price became the first pastor in 1789.
The church relocated to the East Hickman section of Fayette County in 1802 (on Tates Creek RD about 4.5 miles outside of Man O' War), changing the name to reflect this new location. The current sanctuary was built in 1830, with later additions for fellowship and Sunday School space.
East Hickman is a Southern Baptist Church, supporting missions locally and across the world. We have a group of youth and college students who travel every year as Southern Baptist World Changers, participating in construction projects and sharing the Gospel at various locations across the country. Our youth are very active in mission projects as well, including the Feed the Hungry ministry twice per month. Our worship is a blend of contemporary praise music and classic hymns, and also includes drama and other special elements. We have activities for fun and learning for all ages, with an emphasis on studying God's Word, coming into His presence in worship and prayer, and actively taking His Good News into our community and all the world. We would love to have you come and be a part of what God is doing through East Hickman Baptist Church.
