Who We Are!

The Elkhorn Baptist Association

Located at 1161 Red Mile Road in Lexington, Kentucky the Elkhorn Baptist Association is comprised of 84 cooperating Southern Baptist churches and 14 missions/new works in central Kentucky. The Association is a voluntary cooperating member of the Kentucky Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention. Founded in 1785 the Elkhorn Baptist Association is the oldest Baptist Association west of the Alleghenies, pre-dating the Southern Baptist Convention.

Our Mission

Our mission is to assist each local church to develop as natural healthy churches; and to implement a God-given vision of involving churches and people in cooperative efforts of hands-on missions and ministry.

Our Purpose

The Purpose of the Elkhorn Baptist Association is to Develop and Support a Biblical Expression of Christian Mission, Ministry and Evangelism; Endeavoring to Strengthen and Support God’s Kingdom through Individual and United Ministries of Our Member Churches.
