EBA 2013 TOY PROJECT
The Elkhorn Baptist Association Toy Project is now in full swing! Last year we were able to help 501 families (That is about 1,515 Children!) to have a better Christmas. None of this could have happened without our 540 volunteers.

The anticipation is over and God has blessed us with a wonderful candidate to lead the EBA to fulfill the Great Commission and the Great Commandment. In accordance to Article V, Section 2 of the EBA Constitution; the EBA Personnel Team has already informed members of the Executive Board of our special called meeting on Monday December 2, 2013 at Crosswoods Baptist Church at 10 am to vote on the following three recommendations:
- Recommend new job description for Executive Director
- Recommend new Executive Director effective January 1, 2014
- Recommend amending 2014 budget
Your EBA Personnel Team has done a fabulous job praying for the task that was given to us, praying for the search process, reading resumes of potential candidates, asking tough questions, and seeking God’s guidance. We closed our acceptance of resumes on August 1, 2013 and received 78 resumes from all over the nation. The team then began to pray over those resumes and narrowed our list down on several occasions before we decided to call 9 candidates and ask them a few questions in order for us to become better acquainted with them. From those conversations we prayerfully considered our next step and were able to narrow our choices to 6 candidates, but we noticed that two individuals were on the top of the list of each team member. We decided to focus our attention on these two men. We interviewed both men twice with their wives attending one of those interview sessions. We also did background checks and checked their references as well as other names given to us that were not on their reference list. As a team, we felt we had done our due diligence and had enough information to make a great decision. We took a week off for each person to pray about their decision. We came back together and all 8 team members gave the same name as their choice.
It is with great pleasure and a unanimous decision that the EBA Personnel Team recommends David Stokes to be the next Executive Director of the Elkhorn Baptist Association. We have attached the position description we will recommend for approval at the Executive Board Meeting. We have also attached his resume in order to give you a better understanding of David’s work and ministry experience. I hope you will take time to read David’s philosophy of associational ministry and the goals he has for the EBA, if the call is extended once our vote takes place on December 2, 2013.
The EBA Personnel Team has prayed over every decision and God has been among us and we have seen Him moving as we agree on what is best for Elkhorn Baptist Association. I want to thank Glen Cummins, Steve Sholar, John Cravens, Dale Gatewood, Les Hill, Mary Pochodazay, and Gary Shaw for being a wonderful team and working hard to make EBA more impactful for the Kingdom of God. I encourage you to pray and come meet our new Executive Director on December 2, 2013 at Crosswoods Baptist Church at 10 am, 4991 Harrodsburg Road, Nicholasville, KY 40356.
In His Mind,
Stephen V. Bruce
